Legal Secretaries Becoming Scarce
Legal secretaries — those people who can type 100 words per minute or so — are becoming scarce, according to the Wisconsin Law Journal. Many current secretaries are nearing retirement, and there are very few new students in the pipeline to replace them.
Eversheds and Clifford Chance Outsource Paralegal Work
Eversheds and Clifford Chance, two large UK firms, have announced that they are outsourcing paralegal work to India. This is due to perceived cost savings, though questions of adequate supervision and communication difficulties remain.

Know, a magazine for paralegals, has published it's first issue and named the 9 Most Influential Contributors to the Paralegal Field. The recipients include Tom O'Connor, Lori Thompson, Deisha L. Vazquez, Stacey Hunt, Henry Alsonso, Gary Melhuish, Deborah Hampton, William Statsky, and Lisa Rosen.
