Paralegal Wins Money in Discrimination Suit
Maria H. Moscarelli, a former legal assistant at Siegel Fenchel & Paddy, has won a total of $703,838 in damages from the firm for being fired after she became pregnant. The award is contingent on appeal.
Duane Morris Cuts Staff
Duane Morris has cut about 18 percent of it's marketing and business development staff. Most of the staff was eliminated in Philadelphia, but some were let go from other offices. The move was reportedly made to create a ''leaner and more experienced team.''
Fried, Frank Cuts about Ten Percent of Staff
Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has laid off about ten percent of its legal staff out of about 730 staffers firm-wide. The laid off staffers will receive severance packages based on years of service.
